Kamani

"Calophyllum inophyllum"

***

Due to the ever-increasing unavailability of Kamani wood, we are offering a substitute wood from other tropical Islands in the Pacific (another Calophyllum species).

It is just as beautiful, similiar in color and durability, but less expensive (not to mention available in MUCH greater quantities, including larger widths and lengths). Please ask about this quality hardwood- Kamani's brother - "Pacific Kamani" or "Callo"

***

This beautiful tree grows at lower elevations and can be found near seashores througout Hawaii. Kamani is a medium to large tree that can grow 40-60 feet in height and 1 to 2 plus feet at the trunk.

The wood of the Kamani is moderately dense and the color is a beautiful red to reddish brown. Kamani has been used to make beautiful floors, bowls, doors, and other wooden crafts.
